What we do

The Human-Animal Connection is a non-profit organization that brings people and therapy animals together for the benefit of both. The program is free for Veterans, Active Duty, First Responders, Health Care Providers and anyone feeling stress in the line of duty. These therapeutic interactions relieve stress, restore resilience and increase enthusiasm for life. This work has been presented to over

4,000 Service members.

  • The Human-Animal Connection’s founder, Genie Joseph, was recently interviewed by Psychology Today and was featured in the article, "Simple Ways to Deepen Human-Animal Relationships." Key points from the article include:

    • People and animals are partners in healing; animals are not tools of healing.

    • When we recognize that animals have opinions and we listen to what they are experiencing, everything changes.
